City of CasselberryCasselberry took its name from Hibbard Casselberry who came to this area in 1926. He acquired approximately 3,000 acres of land and developed part of it into the world's largest fernery. In 1970, Casselberry had a population of just over 6,000. It has grown to 18,205 residents since then. Busy State Road 436 continues into this city where it crosses US Highway 17-92, a main north-south artery.

Casselberry had the distinction of being one of the few property-tax-free cities in Florida until 1976, when citizens voted for a millage for increased services.
